It's tempting to generate a page for every city and state you'd like to rank for, swap in the place name, and call it a growth channel. It rarely works, and it can actively hurt the rest of your site.
Search engines' spam guidelines explicitly target templated, low-value pages that vary only by location name. When a site is flagged for this pattern, the penalty isn't limited to the thin pages — it can suppress the whole domain's visibility.
Our rule for our own location pages, and every client's: a page doesn't publish without a real, substantive intro and at least two genuinely unique FAQs for that specific place. If we don't have real local context yet, the page waits rather than going live as a template. It's slower. It's also the only version of this that actually works long-term.
